An experimental investigation of the low-temperature properties of some RE4Ag51 compounds with RE = La, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho and Er is reported. The structure of the compounds has been characterised at room temperature using X-ray diffraction. All compounds crystallise within a single phase with the Ag51Gd14 structure type and space group P6/m. [Continues.]
