A systematic study is presented of the stress distribution of a cylindrical shell nonradially penetrated into a shallow hemispherical shell under internal pressure, for different angles of inclination of the nozzle. The results from the combined analytical, computational and experimental investigations for a 20° nozzle are compared, to demonstrate the accuracy of the theoretical method presented.
