Radiation of sound by growing cracks
journal contribution
posted on 2010-05-28, 13:26 authored by Victor V. KrylovA general method is proposed for the analysis of sound radiation by cracks of arbitrary configuration propagating in bounded elastic solids. The method is based on the application of Huygens' principle and makes it possible to determine both the law governing the movement of the edges of a crack under the action of applied external stresses and the radiation from it.
