edulis Sims) is increasing as it gains popularity in both developing
and developed countries, not only as a source of juice, but also as
a pleasant and nutritious whole fruit. It is a highly perishable
fruit that shrivels and loses its fresh look within a few days post-harvest.
There is therefore an increasing interest in improving
its shelf-life. [Continues.]
