Disinfection of solid surfaces by combinations of UV light and oxidation treatments

(H2O2) and ozone (O3), were evaluated for disinfecting solid surfaces. Studies were
conducted using spores of the bacterium Bacillus subtilis (ATCC 6633) attached to
materials ranging from filter papers and membranes to aluminium and PTFE.
Techniques were developed for depositing, recovering and enumerating spores from
these surfaces. [Continues.]
