On 16-17 March 2000 the first international seminar on dynamic effects of high-speed trains on soft ground took place in the city of Gothenburg, on the Western coast of Sweden. The seminar was organised by the Swedish Rail Administration (Bonverket), and the chosen venue was not far away from the site where strong dynamic effects and intensive ground vibrations from high-speed trains had been first observed in 1997-98 ...
