Abstract: The treatment of brewery waste is the most common application of anaerobic digestion (AD) for effluent treatment. There is additional benefit of biogas and renewable energy incentives are an added attraction. Here we discuss operational experiences of the AD facilities used by Marmite Unilever at Burton on Trent to treat brewery waste over the period of three years.
