Abstract: Considerable progress has been made at King Alfred's College (KAC) in integrating industrial experience into the Design and Technology curriculum. The paper outlines briefly aspects of the College's Comino Centre GRASP projects application to achieving more effective learning from industrial placements for teacher and school pupils. Some detailed attention is paid to examples of placements of varying duration and purposes. The Getting Results and Solving Problems schema as an approach to preparation, implementation and reporting/evaluation of placements is recounted. In doing so placements are located securely in a continuum of learning experiences.
