MCALPINE, WARE and VAN DER ZANDEN, 2005. The Maths Itembanking Project: A Work in Progress. IN: Proceedings of the 9th CAA Conference, Loughborough: Loughborough University
An Itembank can be defined as:
"a collection of items for a particular assessment, subject or educational sector, classified by metadata which facilitates searching and automated test creation."
An “item” consists of the question itself as well as elements such as responses available to the candidate, feedback, scoring information and metadata describing the item.
