TANG, T., MORRIS, N.J. and COUPLAND, J.M., 2015. Optical measurements of cavitation in tribological contacts. Journal of Physics: Conference Series 656, 012119.
The paper describes the use of a white light interformeter to measure the cavitation
bubble and oil film thickness in a
tribological contact and compares the results to theory. It is found that oil film thickness is best predicted by the theory proposed by Coyne and Elrod.
This paper was also presented at the 9th International Symposium on Cavitation (CAV2015), Laussane Switzerland, on Dec 6-10th. This is an Open Access Article.
