Abstract: The twenty-one papers in this special section focus on bringing the ideas of the worldwide research community working on various disturbance/uncertainty estimation and rejection methods in different engineering sectors into common platform and to present the latest advances and developments in design methods for disturbance/uncertainty estimation, design methods for disturbance/uncertainty attenuation, stability and performance analysis, practical implementation, and various case studies of the applications of these techniques.
