Abstract: © 2015 IEEE. We propose a reference architecture, SelSus (SELf-SUStaining Manufacturing Systems) that aims to enable the provisioning of diagnostic and prognostic capabilities in manufacturing systems that utilize the notions of 'smart' automation devices.
