Abstract: This article was written shortly after the death of Benedict Anderson. It contextualizes Anderson’s contribution to studies of nationalism and the Global South, particularly Asia. It then revisits some of the key debates of Anderson’s scholarship and its particular significance and importance to the study of South Asia.
