Blends of Nylon 12 and High Density Polyethylene were prepared and their phase structure and physical properties evaluated. The mechanical properties and the unexpectedly low densities of certain blends were explained in terms of differential shrinkage of the phases. No evidence for compatibility was found, even on a limited scale; in fact, the interfacial adhesion of the blends was shown to be very low indeed. [Continues.]
