Electroplated lead alloys for plain bearing overlays

A review has been prepared of the history of bearings, the different types of bearing in use and their main characteristics and properties. Plain bearings have been reviewed in some detail with emphasis on the overlay and its design, application and performance characteristics. A brief summary of alloy plating in general introduces a detailed review of lead-tin, cadmium-tin and lead-cadmium alloy electroplating. [Continues.]
