Abstract: An oil spill occurred on the 19th September, 1995 when an oil fuel tanker overturned on its way to Kasese at Lake Nkugute, Bushenyi District Western Uganda. Three people were killed including the driver, the turnboy and another passenger. The first visit was made by officials from the Ministry of Natural Resources on 28th September, 1995 and an initial report was prepared.
