Abstract: The process of strategy and policy formulation in business, as in many other fields, is extremely complex. Though the literature on business policy and strategy is quite extensive, the subject itself is relatively recent. This researcher's interest in the subject arose partly out of teaching the subject and partly through exposure to consultancy assignments relating to strategy formulation exercises for a number of companies in Singapore.
