There were three objectives for the research reported in this thesis. Firstly to design a prototype crossflow filter for the filtration of injection water used in oil extraction. Secondly to perform some experiments into crossflow filtration to gain data for the first objective, and also knowledge about the process of crossflow filtration. Finally, it was intended to gain a theoretical understanding of the process. [Continues.]
