Low-resolution watermarking for print security

The problem of counterfeiting with scanners and printers has been substantially increased over recent years. This is largely due to the dramatic improvement in personal computer hardware and peripheral equipment. There has been a correspondingly increasing demand for digital watermarking techniques which can be applied to printed documents that prevent unauthorized copying of their content and at the same time, can withstand a substantial amount of abuse and degradation before and during scanning. In this thesis a new approach to digital watermarking printed documents is presented. [Continues.]
