Investors in People in small organisations: an investigation of the barriers to recognition and the methods used to overcome them
thesis
posted on 2018-08-17, 09:04 authored by Richard J. TownsendThe purpose of this study was to investigate how small organisations in the
Leicestershire area overcame the barriers to Investors in People (IiP) recognition.
Prior to establishing the barriers, a general literature review on IiP was completed
to give some background on the standard and the potential benefits of
accreditation. The second component of the literature review identified the
principal barriers associated with IiP. It was noticeable that previous studies had
not suggested ways in which organisations overcame the barriers identified, hence
the focus of this study.
The data were collected through the use of semi-structured interviews with twenty
Leicestershire organisations. [Continues.]
