posted on 2018-10-29, 15:55 authored by Derek J. Croome
This thesis is concerned with the philosophy of building environmental engineering education which has formed the background to the B.Tech. undergraduate course in environmental engineering at Loughborough University of Technology. Particular areas of original research covering the noise in air conditioning systems and the radiant heating of buildings are included. New methods to deal with the design of chimneys, air movement patterns in occupied spaces, selection of comfort criteria and feedback from buildings in use are developed. The books 'Noise', 'Buildings and people', and 'Air conditioning and ventilation of buildings' form part of the submission.
