Title: Passive behaviour of some metals in solutions of group VIA anions
Authors: Wilcox, G.D.
Issue Date: 1983
Publisher: © G.D. Wilcox
Abstract: Chromate conversion coatings have been widely used for conferring protection to a range of metals. However, their formation is carried out primarily from hexavalent ion CCrVI) solutions, thus causing effluent disposal problems. Molybdates and tungstates are members of the same periodic group, their toxicity is much lower and hence they are logical alternatives. [Continues.]
