|Abstract: ||Today's business domains are complex and require faster decisions, better allocation of resource and above all dictate the need to share knowledge both within and outside the domain. Managing dynamic projects in such a volatile business environment requires a structured approach. This paper is concerned with using portal technology as a means for storing and transferring knowledge. The paper demonstrates the use of portal technology, via a case study, to increase the overall project reactivity and achieve the objectives, namely to reduce time, improve decision-making, increase productivity and reliability. A portal developed to manage the VIZCon project is described using a novel framework. A five-step approach for developing an effective project management portal is presented with empirical evidence. Finally implementation issues and the limitations of the system are discussed.|
