Abstract: This report describes some of the lessons learnt about problem analysis, project planning and implementation from a series of policing projects set up as part the government's three-year Crime Reduction Programme. The Crime Reduction Programme seeks to encourage crime reduction projects with potential and to learn from them lessons about how to be successful and how to avoid failure. The Targeted Policing Initiative (TPI) has funded 59 projects that seek to reduce crime through the use of problem-solving methodology and a range of these is being evaluated.
